Accessibility 

Everyone can enjoy visiting The Cargo Shed thanks to our wide entranceway ramps, open-plan space, level floors and wheelchair-accessible bathroom facilities. There is one disability carpark on site and several more directly across the road at the Dive Crescent carpark. 

We proudly support the Safe Space Alliance for our LGBTQI+ community and are also members of the Hidden Disability Sunflower Initiative which supports people with non-visible conditions (such as neurological, neurodevelopmental, visual, auditory, sensory or processing difficulties and chronic health issues like arthritis). Wearing a Hidden Disability Sunflower lanyard, pin or wristband lets us know you might need a helping hand or a little more time and understanding. We are here to make sure your visit goes smoothly.  

Eating and drinking 

One huge advantage The Cargo Shed offers compared to other venues is the ability for event organisers to choose their own food and beverage providers. They may opt to hire a professional caterer or supply food and drink bought elsewhere. People can also self-cater and re-heat or chill food and drinks in our kitchen.  

The Cargo Shed is located in the heart of Tauranga’s CBD and it’s an easy walk to a wide range of eateries and bars along The Strand or nearby Wharf St. For a list of local options, visit www.downtowntauranga.co.nz/section/eat-drink  

Parking and transport 

Whether you’re driving, biking or using public transport to travel to The Cargo Shed, we’ve got you covered. Directly across the road you’ll find 150 parking spaces so you needn’t worry about finding a park or having to move it halfway through your event. This carpark is free after 5pm weekdays and on the weekend. 

Bus route 2 (Bayfair/Pāpāmoa) and bus route 5 (Mount Maunganui/Bayfair) stop right outside The Cargo Shed, while other routes start and finish at various Tauranga CBD locations nearby. Visit Baybus for timetable information. 

Tauranga’s new waterfront cycleway and walkway means you can easily bike, walk or scooter from The Cargo Shed into the CBD and back again. There are bike stands available outside our venue, and lockable bike stands are available on The Strand.
